‘Wire’ copied down fencing.

Unwanted lines removed.

Section of fence copied to the right, 240mm x 6.

A set of posts ready to be printed. This is best done as self-adhesive, as described.

• Use the Line tool to draw vertical lines over the extreme ends of the left and right posts to close the gaps

Now use File >Save As b lineside fence.skp, and File > Export DXF > b lineside fence.dxf.

You now have a drawing of a section of fence ready for cutting out. Remember, with materials such as Mylar it can be helpful to use a glue stick to glue them to cardboard to keep them flat whilst cutting. This stops the Mylar curling with the heat and going out of focus.

Redraw just one post complete from the dimensions given earlier

• Now copy it (Move tool then Ctrl key to get a + by the cursor) to the right, leaving a reasonable gap between posts, and then *19 to make a set of twenty (or however many are required)

Now use File >Save As c lineside fence.skp (this saves all your drawing).

Next, select the posts and use File >Export DXF c lineside fence posts.dxf (this saves just these posts).

Again, these will benefit from being cut whilst the Mylar is glued to card.
